Harding, a small town that is nestled in a dairy and timber farming area, sits at the foot of the majestic Ingeli mountain range in the Mzimkulwane river valley and is surrounded by ancient indigenous forests. The Harding Golf Club is a scenic 78 kilometer inland drive from Port Shepstone and offers a welcome relief from the coastal winds found at the coastal golf courses.
The golf course is mostly a local affair with the farmers even pitching in to help with the upkeep of the course and also keeping the 19th hole well watered. Although it is a 9 hole course, the double tee-boxes at each hole make for a pleasant 18 hole round of golf for casual and more experienced players alike.
The fairways, flanked with majestic old trees, are wide and planted with Kikuyu grass while the greens are planted with bent grass. The course has a relaxed atmosphere and offers great views of the surrounding farms and timber plantations. Six water hazards and several bunkers provide a suitable challenge.
Visitors and locals are equally welcomed and if you fancy a pleasant round of golf in the rural country side of KwaZulu Natal, Harding is the place for you.
